Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful maternity and family session at Wilson Park, chosen for its proximity to my client’s home as the mother-to-be was nearing the end of her pregnancy. The park’s lush, green scenery provided the perfect backdrop for this special moment.

However, the session had its challenges. Their almost-three-year-old daughter was going through the "terrible twos" and had a tough time adjusting, crying through most of the shoot. While dad comforted her, we made use of the time by focusing on capturing some solo maternity shots of mom. When their daughter finally calmed down for a brief five-minute window, we worked quickly to capture her sweet smile.

Despite the challenges and the short session, we managed to get enough beautiful photos that truly reflect the love and anticipation of this growing family. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love family photography—there’s always beauty to be found, even in the unpredictable moments.
